Keith Elam, aka Guru of the hip hop duo Gang Starr, and most prominently known to fans of the GTA series as the voice of 8-Ball, has passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 43.

9 years ago, he lent his voice to Grand Theft Auto III's 8-Ball, symbolizing the true start of what has become a hugely successful franchise with his famous first words imaged above.

Who knows how the Grand Theft Auto series may have turned out had it not been for him? Sure he may not have been a part of the developing team, but his contributions certainly stood out and will never be forgotten.
