Now that AW is finally out here in the good old US of A, here's an announcement for everyone who wants to freely roam in AW.

Coming soon* from Kamek: Apocalypse Weekend 7-Day Game (AW7)! This is an awesome mod that combines the best of the original Postal 2, the new weapons and missions in AW, plus some of the Eternal Damnation team's finest work!

AW7 is a mod that requires Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend. AW7 combines the normal Postal 2 week with the extra weekend missions from AW, plus some extra bonus stuff! The game starts out innocently enough in front of the dude's trailer, but if you look around you'll find a machete right off the bat.

New features include:

* Perfect integration of the AW weapons into the original Postal 2 levels. Hack limbs and lop heads at your own leisure!

* All the free roaming you want before the Apocalypse. Complete the first five days in as little or as much time as you want, then bring all your goodies into the hospital for added fun in the AW levels!

* It's not the same game anymore! Just run around and you'll find stuff you'd never find in the original Postal 2 game.

* New levels! AW7 brings some of your deathmatch favorites into the single player game. Clear out the zombies at Paradise Grade School, or play a game of Teen Sniper in Winter Park.

* Bonus mission on each day! Find Kamek to activate special bonus missions. Complete all 5 and you'll get a prize!

* Arcade games come to life! Play a round of Super Postal Bros. or hunt down homosexuals in Fag Hunter.

* New weapons from the Eternal Damnation team! Enjoy favorites such as the SMEG, the Baseball Bat, the limb-hacking Meat Cleaver, and the Pitchfork. Or start your own Texas Chainsaw Massacre with the well-hidden Chainsaw.

* New bystander skins for a little more variety.

* Unlock new cheats by performing various feats in the game, such as beating the game under a set period of time, or playing without killing a single innocent bystander.

Q. What is AW7?

A. AW7 is the Apocalypse Weekend 7-day Game. It's a project created by me to address some of the issues of the original AW expansion pack. Think of it as a "Director's Cut" version of Postal 2.

Q. What weapons will be in AW7?

A. You can expect to find all the AW weapons in AW7: Machete, Sledge, and Scythe. Some of your favorite weapons from Multiplayer Mods, such as the SMEG, Nukes, and Pitchfork, will be in. Also, several Eternal Damnation weapons will be included as well. Possibilities include, but are not limited to: Baseball Bat, Knuckle Dusters, Meat Cleaver, Flamethrower, and the Chainsaw if you look hard enough.

Q. I heard that this mod will have things like the Red Turtle and Bigfoot. Is this true?

A. Only the most dedicated players will discover secrets such as those.

Q. How long have you been working on this?

A. While I'm not at liberty to divulge the exact details, we'll just say that this mod has been in the works for quite awhile now.

Q. How large will this mod be? Seeing as how you had to rebuild all the maps, it's going to be really fucking huge, right?

A. In the interest of keeping the file size down, I'm working on a special installation that will utilize IPS Patches. The planned installation will copy the normal maps from Postal 2, patch them with the IPS Patches, then put them in the AW maps folder. Without IPS Patches, the maps alone would come out to nearly 300 MB.

Q. Will it have the places from Apocalypse Weekend, like the chinese restaurant full of zombies?

A. During Monday through Friday, you roam about town as normal. Find new pickups, bonus missions, and other secrets. But when Friday is done, and you receive that fated gunshot wound to the head, you'll wind up in the AW Hospital. From there, the game plays just like in the expansion, but you'll be able to bring most of your goodies from the first 5 days with you. Not to mention that the AW maps are also being redone, so you'll find new pickups and surprises in the AW maps as well!

Q. Will this mod be for Apocalypse Weekend or just Postal 2?

A. This mod will be for Apocalypse Weekend only.

Q. Can you add an axe as a weapon?

A. I'm running into a dilemma here. If you use the "all guns" cheat to give you every single weapon from both P2, AW, and AW7, you wind up with NINE weapons all bound to the "1" key. I might end up reassigning some of the weapons to other keys. Anyway, I'm sure someone out there has come up with some axe animations and might be willing to donate them to the project... wink wink
